Our commitment

Alderton Associates Ltd is committed to the privacy of your personal data, as required by UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018). This policy applies to personal information provided to us so that we can provide our services to you and your company.

Consent

Your use of our services signifies your consent for us to collect and use personal information about you and your company in accordance with this policy. If we change the policy, we will tell you in writing.

The information we collect and how we use it

We respect the privacy of all clients and make only safe and ethical use of the information provided to us in order to perform our services. Disclosure of your personal details is voluntary. If you believe any information we hold is inaccurate, tell us and we will correct it as quickly as possible.

Some information is held in databases. These are secure, password-protected, stored on our cloud-based server and accessible only by authorised people. We ask for your email address and phone number so that you can take part fully in our services, and for address information in order to provide them.

This website

When you use our enquiry or download forms we collect the details you enter (such as your name, email, phone number, property address and any files you upload) and use them only to respond to you. Form submissions are processed by our website host, Netlify, and stored in our Microsoft 365 project system.

Who will have access to the information?

Information you give is available to our employees and consultants directly employed by Alderton Associates Ltd, and is used solely to provide the services you have requested. We also provide the necessary information to Local Authorities so that Planning, Listed Building, Building Regulations and other applications can be processed, and to other experts where their services are needed — such as structural engineers, planning consultants, civil engineers, building contractors, survey providers and Ordnance Survey data providers. We will tell you when third parties are needed.

How long will personal information be stored for?

We keep personal information for no longer than necessary: while we perform your services, for as long as needed to support your project, and afterwards for as long as reasonably necessary to meet regulatory or insurance requirements, resolve disputes or enforce our terms. When it is no longer needed we confidentially destroy all electronic and paper files.

Technical information and cookies

Like most websites, our servers gather limited information during a visit, including your IP address and browser configuration, used only to improve the content, design and performance of the site.
