Terms and conditions

1. Application

Our standard terms and conditions apply to the provision of the services detailed in our quotation. The full terms are issued with every fee proposal; this page is a summary.

2. Who you contract with

You are entering into a contract with Alderton Associates Limited. Apart from the liability of the company, no personal responsibility is accepted by any director or employee.

3. Our services

We will use reasonable skill and care in performing the services, in line with the quotation we issue to you.

4. Your obligations

You agree to obtain any permissions needed, provide access to the property and information, and supply the documents we need in good time.

5. Fees and payment

Fees are set out in the quotation. All work is subject to VAT at the applicable rate. Late payments may attract interest at 8% above the Bank of England base rate.

6. Cancellation

Quotations may be withdrawn if not accepted within 30 days. Amendments must be agreed in writing.

7. Liability

Our total liability under the contract is limited as set out in the full terms.

8. Planning and Building Regulations

We cannot guarantee that planning, listed building or Building Regulations approval will be achieved. Appeals and extended negotiations may be charged additionally.

9. Asbestos

We are not qualified asbestos surveyors. Where asbestos may be present, an asbestos survey must be obtained before work starts.

10. Intellectual property

We own the intellectual property in the drawings and documents we produce, and grant you a licence to use them for the project.

11. RICS regulation

Alderton Associates is regulated by RICS (firm number 038441) and complies with the RICS Rules of Conduct.

12. Complaints

We operate a two-stage complaints procedure. If a complaint cannot be resolved with us, it can be referred for independent redress through CEDR.

13. Law

The contract is governed by the law of England and Wales.
